We love God and struggle tirelessly to do His will, until we draw our last breath. And the greatest work one has to do is pray and remain in constant communion with God.
There are souls which are careful: they don’t sin heavily, but they are unable to open before God and they’re confused, blocked and trapped. They have no straightforwardness, no humility, no true fear of God and cannot find their way back to God.
One couldn’t say that God keeps us in the dark. Still, it is not by accident that He does not let us know of His energies in every single detail. This would be harmful to the soul. When you don’t care about salvaging as much as you can of yourself, but entrust yourself to God, you don’t need to know. God does.
If you go to Christ, and entrust yourself to His hands and have Him dwell in you, things are simple and easy, because the whole work is done by Christ. Let us not consume ourselves with worry. It’s God who takes care of us. Your only care and concern should be to stay united with God. Your whole existence should be a prayer to God.
Each and every one of us should wonder, “Do I really want Christ to change me and make me as He wishes? Do I believe that Christ can do this and wants to do this?”
By simply daring to think sincerely and honestly, by simply wishing to surrender to Christ, man will have to face up to the rebellion of his very own self. Still, this has to take place. Otherwise, we try in vain. And we neither have Christ, nor comfort and solace in our hearts.
When man humbles himself and becomes fully aware of his weakness, then God intervenes. The same goes for us here, too. When we are totally left on our own and realize our whole weakness, the way to God will open up –and it may open in an unexpected manner. Then, God intervenes and leads things where He wants to. Let’s have our faith and hope in God. Let us cast away from our soul, all fear, doubt or despair.
If you find God, and God finds you, if true humility comes to your heart, you will be graced by God and the love for God will burn you up.
Salvation is very simple because it is offered freely by God to the man who longs for it.
In order for us to reach salvation, we won’t all follow the same path.
The Son of God preaches the truth, and man is called to listen, to take in and make sense of it. He is called to save this truth in his heart. As you let a hot drink or medicine soothen your illness, similarly, let the truth of God influence you as much as possible and let it affect you in an absolute manner.
It’s one thing to be thinking, “To me, God is everything. He knows all and can do all. I leave myself in the hands of God, I entrust myself to God unconditionally without reservations”. And it’s totally another to trust God in the sense that you expect Him to give you this or that. That’s not a gracious attitude towards God.
If you see, indeed, how much damage sin has done to you, thinking of yourself as superior to others is totally out of the question.
In order to be forgiven, sanctified, saved, and enabled to receive what is offered by God, man needs to listen, understand and respond. He needs to say “yes” to God and give his consent. This is how sanctification will be granted to man. This is how sanctification will take place in man, mostly based on his response and not so much on his words. And this will show in the actual daily routine.
Man is made in order to be deified. Still, until he finds this path, he’ll go through a lot. And he will find this path when he lets God deify him.
A man, who creates an ideal image of himself, does it only because he can’t stand himself the way he is.
The Devil doesn’t give it a rest by simply making you sin. What the devil wants is drive you to despair, get your soul cold towards Christ. And, yes, he wants to make you think that Christ doesn’t accept you, that Christ rejects you.
In order not to be misled by the devil’s intentions stay in obedience.
When you act humbly and trustfully towards Christ, that very moment, you get illuminated. You, then, put what you have to say so right, that, in a way, you make God respond to your request. In a similar situation, Jacob had said, as he held on to the promises of God; “I won’t let you leave until you bless me”.
The root of the inferiority complex lies in the experiences of childhood. This is where it starts from. It is very rare among older people to develop it. Grownups may have it, but it has been there since their childhood.
Man may say “it’s my fault”, but he only speaks theoretically. Deeply in his heart, every man believes that he is wronged by God, that God is the one to blame and the one that has to change. That’s why when many of us pray, we do so, as if we are begging God to change. We pray, as if God was angry, whereas we, on our part, were fine, and had to figure out how to make God change.
It is you, the man, who needs to change, no matter how convinced you’re about the opposite. Then, the Lord himself will come to your heart, one way or another, and grant you repentance, humility, faith, love, illumination. He will offer you His truth, too, along with the information that salvation is close.
Worldly mentality is all about planning and programming. Spiritual mentality is believing that everything is done by God.
